Blog August 22, 2023: Presentation.

Hello!

My name is Isidora Jara, I'm 19 years old and I'm studying geography at the FAU, it's already my second year. I live with a lot of my family (like 14 people) and we are very close and united. In the holidays the house is full of people and even if it's quite noisy, you get used to it and I love them. I also have two dogs and a cat, their names are Broly, Lucho and Dewey, the three of them are so caotic and fun.

Talking about my hobbies, I always like artistic stuff because it keeps me busy and focused, like painting, drawing, making hand-made things, etc. I also really enjoy things related to horror, like very extreme horror movies and doing scary costumes and make-ups; obviously, because of that, I love Halloween.

A reflective post about my semester in FAU.

When this semester started I didn't have much interest in the subjects I had since they were more related to physics and some teachers complicated the subjects, but I think my favorite was Geografía Rural, it's more related to human things but I think I learned interesting concepts and new points of view with the texts I read. The subject that I found most difficult is Geomorfología del Cuaternario, it's probably the most physical subject I had and I'm not very good at identifying things just by seeing it, but I learn interesting things and many explanations of why the earth it's like this currently. This semester went by very quickly, at one point I was starting, then I was taking tests and now I feel like I went straight to the end, but I think my best moment was when I was on the recess week and after a long time I received the grade of a important subject that's very difficult for me (Geomorfología del Cuaternario) and it was a 4.0, I had never been so happy

My cultural Radar (Part 2)

After reading the Guardian snapshot in part 1, I ' m going to name 6 things that are on my cultural radar at the moment: 1. Movies: For a while I've been very interested in extreme horror movies. I think over the years I've been getting more into this world of movies that aren't as well known. Although there are psychological films that I really like, I'm more into body horror films and the special effects involved in these. Lately I'm really interested in Mikel Balerdi's independent films, I find it impressive how he acts, makes the special effects and shoots his films with few other people. 2. Musical artist: At the moment I think my favorite and the one I listen to the most is Rob Zombie, I really like his style inspired by classic horror movies and all the halloween vibe he gives in his songs and shows. I'm really looking for more musical artists that give this vibe (like Alice Cooper, Powerman 5000, etc.). 3. Magazine: Right now I'm reading f
